November saw the return of the annual Utilita Girls Cup. The competition is one of the biggest national football competitions for schools and includes over 6,000 under-13 girls representing local schools in areas surrounding the 72 member Clubs of the EFL.

After the Local, Area and Regional phases of the competition, the teams have a chance to represent their Club at Wembley Stadium before the EFL Trophy Final.

THIS YEAR’S COMPETITION

This year’s competition was hosted at Heysham Mossgate Sports & Community Centre, and 10 teams from schools in the local area took part, and the winners were Queen Katherine School, following a nail-biting final against Lancaster Girls Grammar School!

Well done to Queen Katherine School in the next round of the competition, and a big thank you to Tarnia and Annabel at TP Financial Solutions for providing medals and trophies for the girls participating!
