VETERANS’ COFFEE MORNING
The club’s armed forces veterans’ coffee morning was launched on 22nd December and was a huge success. We are therefore pleased to announce that on Wednesday 26th January, the next coffee morning will take place at the Mazuma Stadium.
The aim of the event is to bring veterans together from across North Lancashire. People can meet for a brew and a chat, whilst seeing what support is available if required.
It is a drop in event, which is free of charge. On the first coffee morning, there were over 30 veterans in attendance. This opened the door to a monthly event taking place at the Mazuma Stadium.
Gary Heys, from the First Light Trust, has worked alongside MFC Community Sports and the football club. He said that the event is a much needed support network for those that need it. This is somewhere they can speak freely and feel comfortable.
